Sleep Sack, Swaddle or Blanket?

Wondering what to shop for your little one for a good night's sleep? Here's my view on what to buy out of these three?

Sleeping Sack
This is my most preferred option. It helps to cover baby well, especially during winters. The baby can wear cotton bodies or overall and sleep in the sack with enough space for movements of legs. I also find it one of the safest options for putting baby sleep in.
Important is however, to buy the right size, so that it is not so loose around the neck, and not so tight. Beforr buying one, do read thr size instructions, as it may vary from brand to brand.
You can also buy a set of sleeping sack, ehich can be used for 4-6 months. The set normally contains two simultaneous sizes of inner sack and one outer sack. Multiple sizes makes it possible to use the sack for 6 months or so. And inner and outer sack makes it possible to adjust as per weather. If ots not too cold, you can kust use inner sack. In cold winters inner and outer sack both can be used. Below is the picture of the sleeping sack which I bought.

Swaddle
So, some babies might not sleep wrll in sleeping sacks. In that case swaddles may be the saviour. There are two types of swaddles available - Swaddle sack and swaddle cloth.
Swaddle sack are the ones with velcro and defined stitched space for thr legs of the baby. They are easy to use and there arr less chances of you tieing your baby too loose or too tight.

Swaddle cloth, are ususally cotton or muslin cloths which are big and square in shape. You can easily learn how to use it via Youtube videos. Advantages are that you can adjust as per baby's size.
I have purchased both these types of swaddles.

The reason I purchased swaddles along with sleeping sack is that, during day time or so, I can use swaddle for couple of hours. So that baby feels comfortable, with legs and hands tied up, and cozy like in mummy's tummy.

Blankets
So the third option is buying a blanket. I would not recommend buying a blanket as it is not considered safe for newborn babies.
However, you will still need a blanket for the baby. For travelling purpose, before placing baby in car seat. While going to doctor's, placing it inside the stroller beneath the baby. While handing over the baby to someone, placing the baby on over the blanket. Baby cannot be placed directly on a surface, so blanket can alsways come handy for placing the baby on it.
This is the reason I have purchased blanket. You can buy pure cotton or fleece blankets.
You can also find cotton baby mats (small soft, a bit thick mats for baby's to put on).
Here are some pictures of blanket and baby mats I have purchased.

Cotton plastic Sleeping mat
They comr in handy, during summers and when you want to keep your babg diaper-less for some time. These are small mats, with upper surface made of cotton and the lower surface of plastic. You can place this on baby's bed or any sleeping area and then place baby on the cptton side of the mat. It helps to save the bed or the sleeping area from getting wet as water does not seeps through. Here is the picture of one which I purchased.

Sleeping Nest
There is one more option to place baby, during sleep or even just like that - Baby's nest. I eould noy recommend buying a bay nest. The centre of the nest is thin, so you must place a blanket or a mat first and them place baby over it. Furthermore, it is a bit heavy, so you cannot carry it when baby is inside the nest. And you kinda have to fix a place for the nest. Due to these two reasons, I returned a baby nest which I had bought. Nevertheless here is a picture of how it looked.

Husbands get pregnant too!

The journey of pregnancy starts with the Good News and the excitement that follows for nine months. And it ends with a beautiful new person in life.  Well this journey is lived by both Mom-to-be as well as Dad-to-be. Including pregnancy related symptoms, anxiousness, surprises, sleepless nights, pains and faints. Don't believe me yet, read along... When we got the good news, I felt emotional and sudden gush of happiness which I didn't knew how to express and tears rolled out. My husband held my hand, and his eyes and gestures expressed that this moment was the best moment in his life. Then started my first roller coaster ride with nausea and not able to eat. With vomiting 4-5 times a day, I was struggling to keep food inside my stomach. There were so many times, when I had dinner and then puked immediately after. My husband would simply skip his dinner then, so that I could eat my round 2 or 3 of dinner. He would have to eat snacks or breads, even after

Pregnancy Shopping for Moms-To-Be

During pregnancy, there are many physical changes occuring every month. Changes in size of clothes, shoes, jackets, lingerie and so on. And it is impossible to survive 9 months which the old size clothes. During the start of pregnancy it may, your old warddrobe might do the work, but with onset of second n third trimester you will need more comfy clothes matching your new size.  Then there's also the point of not spending high on pregnancy shopping as you wont be using them after 9 months.  So here are some tips on how to do some shopping for second and third trimester. (I wish I had known them beforr..could have saved some bucks) 1. For outdoor wear buy jeans with elastic extensions. You can buy your regular size or one size plus, as the elastic part extends enough for your growing belly. Size of your thighs and legs will not change much, so you can ourchase your regular size. I would recommend buying atleast one to two jeans, as this will come handy, especially when its windy, ra
