Pregnancy Shopping for Moms-To-Be

During pregnancy, there are many physical changes occuring every month. Changes in size of clothes, shoes, jackets, lingerie and so on. And it is impossible to survive 9 months which the old size clothes.

During the start of pregnancy it may, your old warddrobe might do the work, but with onset of second n third trimester you will need more comfy clothes matching your new size.

Then there's also the point of not spending high on pregnancy shopping as you wont be using them after 9 months.

So here are some tips on how to do some shopping for second and third trimester. (I wish I had known them beforr..could have saved some bucks)

1. For outdoor wear buy jeans with elastic extensions. You can buy your regular size or one size plus, as the elastic part extends enough for your growing belly. Size of your thighs and legs will not change much, so you can ourchase your regular size.
I would recommend buying atleast one to two jeans, as this will come handy, especially when its windy, rainy or snowy and you need to go out for walk, doctor's appointment or shopping.

2. Stockings are not that comfortable by the end of pregnancy. Although i enjoyed wearing stockings n summer dresses during my second trimester, in my last trimester I can't oull it off. Its mainly because they are too tight for stomach and uncomfortable if i wear them below my belly. So i would refrain from buying any new stockings. Instead i would suggest buying cotton sweat pants or loose cotton leggings.

3. Lingerie shopping is a must. You will need soft cotton, comfortable and plus size (1 size more than your regular size) underwears. And Bra atleast 2 sizes more than your regular size. I would recommend buying a non-paded one as breats will be so heavy by third trimester, that padding might just add extra weight. Also, i wouod highly recommend buying feeding bra, even if you are buying it in sdcond trimester. The reason being, so that you can use it later while feeding the baby.

 4. I would also recommend buying soft, long home woolen socks, which you can use during winters and also during labour. However its not a must.

5. In case you are buying tshirts or tops, I would highly recommend buying those with buttons or buying blouses and shirts. So that you can use it for feeding after delivery. After delivery you are going to be feeding your little one every 2-3 hours at start. And you will absolutely need tops which open up easily and is comfortable for you to feed your baby.
Other than that I wouldn't add much to the pregnancy wardrobe.
Buying clothes for pregnancy, is not going to be pocket friendly. Infact pregnancy wardrobes are atleast 30-40% more expensive than regular ones. So be wise and think before you buy. Hope this post helps you.

Sleep Sack, Swaddle or Blanket?

Wondering what to shop for your little one for a good night's sleep? Here's my view on what to buy out of these three? Sleeping Sack This is my most preferred option. It helps to cover baby well, especially during winters. The baby can wear cotton bodies or overall and sleep in the sack with enough space for movements of legs. I also find it one of the safest options for putting baby sleep in. Important is however, to buy the right size, so that it is not so loose around the neck, and not so tight. Beforr buying one, do read thr size instructions, as it may vary from brand to brand. You can also buy a set of sleeping sack, ehich can be used for 4-6 months. The set normally contains two simultaneous sizes of inner sack and one outer sack. Multiple sizes makes it possible to use the sack for 6 months or so. And inner and outer sack makes it possible to adjust as per weather. If ots not too cold, you can kust use inner sack. In cold winters inner and outer sack both can be used. B...

How important is HCG?

HCG Level is one of the milestone to achieve at the start of the pregnancy. HCG is a hormone whose level increases with the onset of pregnancy. The levels are different for different women, and also depends on how far has pregnancy progressed. Arough value range can be found here . HCG levels are relevant only to be sure if you are pregnant or not. Once, the HCG level detected is higher than normal levels, it will no longer be monitored. Once pregnancy has onset, sonography and vaginal ultrasound are the means with which doctor will further monitor the progress of the growing foetus. Note: All information is based on my personal experience. I am not a medical expert.
